AVA, Agrupación Viajera de Arizona, is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating a co-ed challenge filled adventure and individual growth experience during travel in Europe, especially Spain.

The primary mission is to venture forth and personally experience the richness and diversity of the Iberian Peninsula and other parts of Europe; creating our realities, adventures, and opportunities for individual growth.

The team will assume total responsibility for each other’s welfare and conduct.

Each member will study and apply the principles of servant-based leadership while stimulating their minds and hearts in the exploration and investigation of the cultural depths of Spain.

I. Roles of the Executive Board members must have participated in at least two AVA adventures
1.0 Develop policies and procedures consistent with the Vision, Values, Goals and Mission Statement of AVA
1.1 Assist the travel team in having a memorable experience, to include all of the positive / negative adventures.
1.2 Assume no liability, nor guarantees of any kind concerning or during the journey.
1.3 Arrange the purchase of airfare for the team from funds received throughout the fiscal year of 1 Sep 31Aug.
1.4 Qualify the members of AVA from an unspecified number of applicants.
1.4.1 Screen applicants with a rigorous objective & subjective qualification process.
1.4.2 Co-founders will retain veto power over any recommendations put forth.
1.4.3 Concur unanimously on any disqualification of an applicant.
1.5 Reserve the right to modify/amend to ensure the team integrity and mission accomplishment.

II. Roles of the Guide Director

2.0 Represent the Executive Board in country to ensure compliance and adherence to the Core Values of AVA.
2.1 Assist the team President, Vice President and Adjutant / Executive Secretary in providing a growing experience for the team.

III. Roles of the President selected by Guide Director
3.0 Lead by example.
3.1 Facilitate the greatest depth of learning and growth by posturing the team in significant life experiences.
3.2 Task the CV and CCA to assist in whatever manner necessary to achieve this end.
3.3 Conduct forums and team meetings both pre and post departure.
3.4 The CC, CV, CCA and COO are the governing authority for the team in determining adherence to policy and procedures and any consequences that result from non-compliance.

IV. Roles of the Vice President (CV)
4.0 Lead by example.
4.1 Assist the President in the enforcement of policies and procedures
4.2 Serve the President

V. Roles of the Chief of Staff (CCA)
5.0 Lead by example.
5.1 Assist the President especially in the areas of administration and logistics.

VI.  Roles of the Chief of Operations (COO) Selected by the Vice President
6.1  Lead by Example
6.2  Assist the CV in the implementation and operational phases of the team venture. 

VII. Responsibilities of the members of AVA
7.1 Min age; 17 by departure                                                                                    7.1.1 AVA07 may consider 16 year olds as the new age requirement is established.
7.1.2 Age requirement exceptions may only be waived by unanimous vote of the Board
7.2 Begin (if a series) or complete all inoculations/vaccinations before departure.
7.3 Remain current after qualification with monthly deposits / financial obligations.
7.4 Attend all core meetings and business breakfasts. Allowed to miss one.
7.5 Accomplish required readings and academics before departing the USA.
7.6 Purchase travel insurance before departing the USA.
7.7 Minimum one academic year of linguistic study with Kimo
7.8 Abide by the Core Values / Star Code of Honour

VIII. Refunds and Funds Disbursement
8.1 Full refunds for initial disqualification are to be initiated NLT 1 Jan of departure year.
8.2 Travel team members whom are subsequently disqualified after qualification forfeit security deposit.
8.3 Fund raising monies will be divided among the travel team. Disqualified applicants are not eligible.
